The Ergonook Comfort Score (ECS)
Every product we cover in a review or roundup receives an ECS out of 10, calculated from the same five weighted criteria. The weighting reflects what matters most for daily comfort in a home office setting, not just first impressions.

How We Research Products
For each product we cover, we research manufacturer specifications, materials, and warranty terms, and compare them against similar products in the same category. We also look at patterns across verified customer feedback to identify recurring strengths or complaints that specifications alone do not show. We do not physically evaluate every unit in person, so our scores are based on research and comparative analysis rather than in-person evaluation, and results can vary by body type, workspace, and personal preference.
What We Don’t Do
- We don’t accept payment in exchange for a favorable ranking or score.
- We don’t fabricate specifications, prices, review counts, or awards.
- We don’t claim a product was physically evaluated in person unless it was.
- We don’t guarantee a product will work for every body type or setup. Comfort is personal, and we note where results are likely to vary.
Updates
Each review and roundup lists a publish date and, when applicable, a last-updated date. We revisit articles when a product is discontinued, redesigned, or when better information becomes available, and we remove or replace products that are no longer sold.
